Sacred Heart was awarded Investors in Careers Status in 2014. We were reassessed in April 2017 and May 2021.

We are extremely proud of our May 2021 report and include an extract below:

“This was a very enjoyable and well organised assessment visit and a very good submission for retention of the Quality in Careers Standard. The team presented an impressive portfolio of evidence which highlighted how previous areas for development had been addressed, previous good practice had been built upon, and new opportunities developed.

The school has demonstrated many examples of excellent practice and the careers programme is very thoroughly thought through to ensure maximum impact for the students at every stage of their school life from years 6-11. I would have no hesitation in recommending that the school retains the Quality in Careers Standard.

The CEAIG programme delivered is excellent and well anchored to the CDI framework. Students were able to talk about how this programme had enabled them make informed decisions about their futures and believed that they had received an exemplary service from the school. Judging from the evidence submitted and the discussions at the assessment day, I can only concur with this opinion.

The school has a very impressive record of working with local employers and providers and students are afforded a wealth of opportunities and experiences

The evaluation processes are well considered and the information gained from evaluations is used to continuously improve the careers programme.

The skills, knowledge and enthusiasm of the Careers Lead, Careers Adviser is infectious and it is clear they possess a commitment to ensure that the careers programme at Sacred Heart is excellent in every respect.

The CEAIG provision at Sacred Heart is excellent and ensures that all students are totally equipped for making informed and aspirational decisions about their future.”

What is Investors In Careers?

Investor in Careers is a Licensed Awarding Body for the Quality in Careers Standard award, which showcases and supports the management of careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG).

From 31st March 2017, all careers standard awards will now follow a national set of standards – the Quality in Careers Standard. Investor in Careers is proud to be one of only 12 Licensed Awarding Bodies in England & Wales.

Investor in Careers is designed to raise the standard of CEIAG provision delivered by schools and colleges nationally. It provides a clear framework for meeting statutory guidance and it supports preparation for Ofsted by enabling schools and colleges to demonstrate how they are meeting the requirement of preparing students for the next stage in their journey.

All our Investor in Careers holders have demonstrated a commitment to provide impartial, independent careers education, information, advice and guidance to all young people.

The standard places high value on work related learning and employability skills and seeks to support the management of CEIAG delivery. It is the most widely used quality award of its kind nationally.

This really is one of the highest accolades an organisation can receive for excellence in this area of work and is definitely something the award holder can be very proud of. The Quality in Careers Standard is about improving students’ awareness of opportunities, raising their aspirations and working with them to ensure they achieve their full potential.
