“A sense of community is evident in the school with a highly dedicated staff who care deeply about the pupils.” (Section 48 Inspection, 2022)

Chaplaincy at Sacred Heart is central to the life of the school and plays a vital role in the school’s faith and pastoral mission.

Chaplaincy exists to support the community as it lives out its mission and provides pastoral care to both pupils and staff. It supports pupils and staff to grow in understanding of their relationship with God wherever they are on their faith journey.

One of the key areas of chaplaincy is enabling our community to become involved in social justice projects to help build a better world. Each year during Advent we have a well established hamper project which reaches out to many vulnerable families in our area and local parishes. We also have numerous activities throughout the year to support the work of CAFOD. Pupils are encouraged to take a leadership role and help plan our charity and outreach programmes.

We are called Sacred Heart and in all we do we aim to share the love of Jesus with all, both within school and our wider community.
