Science Club became a full crime scene investigation tonight as students worked to solve a very important mystery… who stole Mrs Dwyer’s sweets?! 🍬
With three suspects — Mrs Tindall, Mrs ...Geraghty and Miss Young — our young scientists used a range of forensic techniques to gather and compare evidence, including:
Fingerprint analysis
Footprint analysis
Pen and handwriting analysis
Hair sample investigation
Students had to examine the evidence carefully, compare their findings and use their scientific reasoning to identify the culprit.
A brilliant evening of practical science, teamwork and problem solving — CSI Sacred Heart was officially on the case! 🧪🔍

🗣️ Oracy in Action in Year 11 Biology! 🧬🌍
Year 11 were developing their oracy and communication skills this morning through a brilliant back-to-back activity in Biology.
One student had to carefully describe a diagram of the greenhouse effect, while their partner had to... draw it without being able to see the original! ✏️ The activity challenged students to use precise scientific vocabulary, listen carefully and communicate their ideas clearly.
We ended up with some fantastic diagrams — a great example of learning through talk in action! 👏
